Lights, lights and lights!
Besides just making sure to turn off your lights when not in use, or even limiting your light usage, consider upgrading your light bulbs to the those curly florescent ones ... they may cost a lot up front, but they use less than a third of the amount of energy as a normal bulb does, and unlike normal bulbs, they don't burn out for years. It's a great investment towards lower bills in the future!

RE: Lights, lights and lights!
Yes, normally a 60 watt bulb would give off heat, the reason for a bulb rating in a lamp,
the fluorescent bulbs don,t give off much heat, also fluorescent bulbs use less electricity, that's the main reason every one is switching fluorescent bulbs instead of normal bulb. carte iedge |

RE: Lights, lights and lights!
I don't have any lamps that use the three-way bulbs. Those bulbs are a specialty item, so I don't think you can use energy saver bulbs to replace them. I've replaced nearly all of the bulbs in our house with the energy saving bulbs now and I love them. It takes a while for them to warm up, but once they do, they're as bright, if not brighter, than the regular bulbs. Of course, since Cape Cod has the second highest electricity costs (second only to Hawaii), I didn't have much choice but learn to love them...
